In August 2014, we divided the Secondary School into new organisational parts – a Middle School, for Grades 6 to 8 and a Senior School for Grades 9 to 12, each with their own dedicated school Principal. Currently Grade 6-8 its in double streams.
We have expanded our Senior School. As of August 2017 we had approximately 40 students in each of the Senior School Grades. With so many additional students joining HOPAC in Grades 9 and 11 we make sure there are programmes and events at the beginning of the year to welcome the new students and encourage bonding.
In 2016/2017 we added two new subjects to the Senior School Curriculum: IGCSE Accounting and IGCSE PE. BTECH is now added to our curriculum. We're hoping to add more soon!
In August 2016, we were able to open a new sports field/running track, in the area immediately next to the Admin building, which completes a full renovation of the area at the front of the school. We were excited to open our new Library and Learning Resource centre in January 2017. This space is a huge improvement on the previous library with books, computer access as well as more office space and extra classrooms. The old library has been renovated and turned into a Special Needs office and a new day care for staff. This day care centre is an initiative headed up by a group of our parents. In 2018 we opened a new Performing Arts Centre built next to the Admin block. We also have added a new block to the Primary Builiding in 2023.
